2000 Château Reignac - Bordeaux
Prestige,
Bordeaux, France
2000 Reignac: 75%
Merlot - 25%
Cabernet
Sauvignon
Chateau Reignac is one of the latest marketing products at Bordeaux.
Everyone is currently going great guns after rapturous recommendations by Robert Parker. At Reignac, they take great care of their vines and use the latest vinification techniques in the chais under the supervision of the famous Bordeaux
winemaker Michel Rolland. 2000 Reignac has a relatively dark appearance. Super-ripe black cherries, torrified and marked with
oak. On the
palate, it has some power, but the fruit has to fight hard with the tannins to show through. Relatively
austere
structure, but undeniable ageing potential. 87/100

2001 Château Reignac - Bordeaux
Prestige,
Bordeaux, France
2007 April - Excellent ripe fruit aromas with a black chocolate
note. This bottle of 2001 Reignac is particularly juicy and
attractive in mouth, round and fruity. Sturdy texture which holds a
remarkable density until the finish. It's probably available still
at fair prices. At the moment it is not particularly complex but so
enjoyably sexy! |
