1978 Domaine de Chevalier - Pessac Léognan
Graves,
Bordeaux, France
1978 Domaine de Chevalier:
The hue still looks quite young.
Very ripe and fruity
nose with
light tertiary flavours: underwood, black truffle, lead pencil.
This beautiful 1978 Domaine de Chevalier has a
round and totally
integrated
body. Good density. Slightly fading
finish.
Excellent mature bottle currently at its top. 1978 Domaine de
Chevalier was getting even better after one hour in the glass.
90/100

White - 2001 Domaine de Chevalier - Pessac Léognan
Graves,
Bordeaux, France
2007 April - Beautiful yellow colour. Notes of pineapple,
hazel nuts and citrus fruits. Pleasant vanilla and fruit flavours.
Together fat and crisp texture underlined by a beautiful mineral
note.. Complex and long, 2001 Domaine de Chevalier fills the mouth
for almost one minute. A remarkable
sauvignon wine! |

2001 Domaine de Chevalier - Pessac Léognan
Graves,
Bordeaux, France
2001 Domaine de Chevalier :
Ruby color with crimson reflections on the
rim.
Fine flavours of red fruits, blackcurrant and raspberries with a
spicy note.
The
woody vanilla flavours of 2001 Domaine de Chevalier, very
present 4 years ago, seem to have well
integrated today. Beautiful fruity and expressive
palate, quite dense and
balanced with a good amplitude. Excellent
minerality which bodes well with the purity of the fruit.
The
finish
is a bit with disconcerting with an
herbaceous
taste and peppery
tannins which seem to indicate a slight lack of maturity.
Average
depth. Its a shame otherwise 2001 Domaine de Chevalier would be
a splendid wine. 88/100 |
