Tasting notes on Chateau Doisy Daene
- Sauternes-Barsac |
1990 Doisy Daene - Sauternes
Barsac, Bordeaux,
France
1990 Doisy-Daëne , Sauternes, Bordeaux, France.
Nice
deep gold.
Very
fruity flavours, pineapple, pears, honey,
floral and still well
marked by the roasted feeling of the
botrytis. The
attack
of Doisy-Daëne is
rich and melting in the mouth, with a beautiful
fat
accompanying an expressive fruit. Unfortunately, the
finish of 1990 Doisy-Daëne reveals a curious impression of dominant
acidity which
breaks the roundness of the
palate while
finishing "pointed".
Perhaps 1990 Doisy-Daëne should be kept a few more years so that the
structure can completely integrate? A little bit disappointing.
88/100. |

1997 Doisy Daene - Sauternes
Barsac, Bordeaux,
France
1997 Doisy Daene : (Barsac) - 2ème Cru
Classe.
Paler than Chateau Nairac. The
nose is a bit closed but reveals discreet banana, peers, honey and caramel
aromas. In mouth, this wine is
powerful, but has a lot of finesse too. Long and
complex Doisy-Daene, slightly salted (iodized) on the tongue. A very enjoyable and classical Sauternes-Barsac
Doisy-Daene. 89/100
