Tasting notes on Chateau Chasse Spleen
- Moulis, Cru Bourgeois |
1989 Chasse Spleen - Moulis,
Bordeaux, France
07-april: Dark, opaque red with scents of tobacco, cherry and saddle.
Excellent definition and lively on the palate. The tannins are still
perceptible and smooth. Funnily the fruit does not seem very ripe,
which is quite astonishing for such a hot year. Beautiful finish
with more smoothness than power. A great showing for this 1989
Chasse Spleen, my best for this estate since the great 1982.

2001 Chasse Spleen - Moulis,
Bordeaux, France
2001 Chasse Spleen : light purple hue. Black currant and spicy
nose - but not very intense.
2001 Chasse-Spleen's
body isn't very tight and even has a slight dilution after the middle of the mouth. Little fruit and a short
finish.
84/100
