The Satellites of Saint-Emilion are located at the North-East of
Saint Emilion.
Satellites of Saint Emilion is a charming region regroups the communes of Lussac, Montagne, Puisseguin and St.Georges. These communes used to market their wines under the name of Saint-Emilion but in 1936 these outer areas were given their own appellations. This decision was primarily taken
at Satellites of Saint Emilion to protect the image of the greatest
St-Emilion châteaux, but by compensation the areas won the right to attach the brand of
Saint-Emilion to their appellations. The molasse soil of calcareous or gravelly nature is homogeneous throughout the appellation
Satellites of Saint-Emilion and is relatively close to that of the North of Saint-Emilion.
