Fronsac's splendid landscapes are separated from the area of
Pomerol by the stream of l'ISLE. Fronsac is also a fortified ancient City overhanging the town of Libourne. The geology of Fronsac is characterized by a calcareous layer whose depth depends largely on the height of the hillside.
Fronsac's soil consists of molasse under sandy or argillaceous grounds.
