Château Malartic la Gravière - Jean-Jacques Bonnie
Harvest
Chronicles at Château
Malartic
la Graviere -
Pessac-Leognan-Graves
Malartic
la Graviere, October 4th 2006
The
harvest of the white varietals
at
Malartic
la Graviere have
begun on August 30th and came to an end by September 13th. The nice days of
early September have been very profitable for the
Sauvignons and
Semillons.
The picking of the
Merlots
at Chateau
Malartic
la Graviere started on September 18th and finished on 26
ensuring that the grapes on each plot were of optimal ripeness.
Warm and sunny days have been alternating with rainy days but
the grapes remain in a very healthy condition due to the care
taken by the staff at
Malartic
la Graviere in the
vineyard with methods such as
the spacing of the bunches.
The
harvest of the Cabernet
began on 4 October and will continue during the whole week.
Optimum ripeness has been reached with nice
aromas.
The future 2006
vintage at
Malartic
la Graviere seems promissing.
The
fermentation of the white wines of
Malartic
la Graviere will
end this week for the Sauvignons and next week for the Sémillons.
Everything seems to be going very well. The berries are expressing
themselves very well and already bear a strong personality. The fruit on the
palate is full of
aromas
and
fresh with a very great consistency.
As for reds the Merlots
have began their
fermentation on September 25th. The very first vats at
Malartic
la Graviere will finish their
fermentation this week and
they already show a promising and intense colour with great
aromas.
To be continued..
